Spanish denim factory develops new environmentally friendly foam dyeing technology

Tejidos Royo, a Spanish denim factory, has worked with Gaston and Indigo Mill Designs (IMD) on a 10-year study to develop a new environmentally friendly foam dyeing technology.

The use of foam in the dyeing process is very common. As a carrier of dyes and auxiliaries, foam can replace the use of water in a large amount, and it is an environmentally friendly and economical dyeing method. However, this technique is limited in the production of denim because the indigo dye is easily reacted with oxygen in the foam.

It is understood that IMD's IndigoZERO technology overcomes this limitation, not only shortens the production process, reduces energy consumption, reduces water consumption by 99%, and does not contain corrosive chemicals, solving the problem of wastewater discharge. Compared to traditional dyeing methods, the same or better dyeing quality can be achieved, eliminating the chemical and mechanical processes in the garment washing process.
